Chief Financial Officer

The Chief Financial Officer will be a key business partner to the CEO, senior management team, and Board of Directors in the development and execution of the Company's strategic and financial plans. Although the CFO's primary responsibilities will encompass all global financial elements of the organization, this individual's general and operational business acumen, team leadership, and performance management are equally important in the successful execution of the role. The CFO will also have ownership over Legal and Human Resources. The ideal candidate for the position will be operationally focused, have prior financial leadership experience in a growth-oriented SaaS business (i.e. ~$10mm-~$50mm), and will have managed all aspects of finance and accounting, compliance, and other related business functions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as a strategic partner and financial advisor to the Chief Executive Officer, the Board, and members of the senior management team to help shape the overall direction for the company.
  • Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the CEO; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes to keep senior leadership team abreast and engaged with the organization’s financial status.
  • Evaluate the current pricing model and help discern the correct pricing strategy for future products.
  • Take a proactive stance on broader business strategy and operational matters, anticipating market shifts, and proposing strategic initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement through the creation of key metrics and KPI’s that provide a forward-looking view into trends requiring management decisions and actions. Report quarterly at Board meetings, with the ability to create and present specific information to investors. Improve and systematize FP&A processes, as well as KPI and financial performance reporting against company targets and goals.
  • Play a key role across the full spectrum of potential M&A opportunities: evaluation, diligence, execution, and integration     . 
  • Exhibit credibility in preparation for future exit events, understanding the value drivers and effectively positioning the company for potential sales.
  • Motivate and lead a high-performing team, providing active mentoring as a cornerstone to career development. Attract, retain, and develop individuals suited to operate in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Identify and prioritize the tech stack requirements to support the Company’s needs and the needs of the finance team to operate efficiently and cost effectively.
  • Oversight of relationship with lenders – deep understanding of credit agreement, reporting to lenders, and management of compliance with debt covenants.
  • Drive and execute all legal and compliance programs partnering with both inside and outside expert resources including customer and vendor contract administration, overall risk management, regulatory compliance, and industry-standard certifications.
  • Manage all Human Resources functions globally including employee recruiting, hiring, performance management, benefits and payroll, compensation planning, new hire onboarding and leadership development.

Who You Are:

  • Proven track record of success as the lead financial executive in a growth-oriented business of comparable size, growth trajectory, and scope. Experienced in scaling the structure and processes of an evolving finance function – collaboratively shaping a vision for the future and translating that vision to reality.
  • Strength in FP&A background with the ability and willingness to operate in the weeds on analyzing/understanding key business trends, levers, and forecasting.
  • Demonstrated success in change management is critical. Prior experience enhancing financial transparency to provide management with optimal decision-making capability.  
  • The ability to interpret strategic and operational business requirements, to provide appropriate expert advice and financial planning counsel, and effectively influence, communicate, and partner with the leadership team.
  • Familiarity with an ERP transition (i.e., QuickBooks to NetSuite).
  • Buy-side transaction experience, including assessing acquisition targets and successfully integrating businesses. 
  • Ownership of final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting, and audit coordination.
  • Experience working with private equity investors, external auditors, internal controls, and compliance-related issues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
  • Experience building, leading, and mentoring a high-performing financial team that drives results and works collaboratively. 
  • Impeccable integrity and ethical standards. Honest, humble, straightforward, and accustomed to aligning with peers and preventing divisions from emerging between departments. Calm and level-headed under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, evidenced by successful executive, board and employee level interactions. Strong writing and outstanding presentation experience, facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills. 
  • Self-driven, growth-oriented leader who is comfortable weighing in or articulating a contrary point of view in a collaborative setting. Embraces healthy conflict based on a foundation of trust to reach the best possible outcomes. 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required; Master's degree strongly preferred. CPA license is helpful.
